10 Youth Players in Reds' System Ready for the Senior Squad

A few weeks ago, as Manchester United lifted their historic 19th Premier League title, their fans and the club as a whole celebrated jubilantly as the superstars were commended for their 38-game endeavor.
No sooner had Nemanja Vidic lifted the prestigious crown had the focus, the appeal and the media fixation shifted from north to south as the nauseating, tedious, mind-numbing previews of the upcoming Champions League final entered their infancy.
What was somewhat overlooked was an event we may look back on a decade or so from now and mark as the moment that transformed budding academy prospects into the real-deals, the names embedded in the minds of those who don’t even follow this footballing circus.
Just a day after the senior side broke records in adding another title to their already flourishing trophy cabinet, the youth team accomplished a similar triumph as they became the first club to raise the F.A Youth Club 10 times.
So here are some of the players whose salaries come out of the Glazer bank account, but some of whose faces we don’t recognize yet who, sometime in the near future, could well be the faces of the Premier League.

Tom Cleverly

One of the safer bets to succeed in the full squad, Tom Cleverley has had, and succeeded, in his first Premier League trial as he helped Roberto Martinez's Wigan stave off relegation on the the final day of the season.
Despite suffering at times due to injury, the midfielder has shown an effective ability to perform at the highest level. In the wake of Paul Scholes' retirement, the midfielder could compete for first team honours as soon as next

Danny Welbeck

Welbeck has given the chance to showcase his talents this season on loan at Sunderland: how he took his chance.
His pace, panache and consistency resulted in Welbeck leap-frogging the likes of internationals Darren Bent and Asamoagh Gyan to become the first name on Steve Bruce's team-sheet in the attacking department.
With Dimitar Berbatov seemingly falling out of favour at Old Trafford coupled with Wayne Rooney's preference to play off a striker who hangs on the last defender, Welbeck could well be competing for a prominent role in United's next campaign.
Welbeck also has the capability to play on the wing, and if Sir Alex Ferguson can resist the urge to cash in on Welbeck's success in the summer, he could have a dream future at the theatre of dreams.

WEST BROMWICH, ENGLAND - DECEMBER 28: Mame Biram Diouf of Blackburn Rovers celebrates scoring the third goal during the Barclays Premier League match between West Bromwich Albion and Blackburn Rovers at The Hawthorns on December 28, 2010 in West Bromwich

Mame Diram Diouf

Another striker who's shown what he can do in the Premier League, Diouf had a successful season at Blackburn as they secured Premier League football for at least another season.
Steve Kean is, excuse the pun, keen to re-aquire the Senegalese sriker's talents for next year.
At this stage, I'd imagine it's odds on he starts next year away from Old Trafford, but he's shown he's ready for whatever Premier League challenge he ends up with.

Ravel Morrison

Morrison is a highly talented player who operates in the midfield.
One of the key figures of the Manchester United reserve squad, Morrsion helped the reserves to the F.A Youth Cup this season scoring twice in the second leg of the final against Sheffield Wednesday.
Morrison may well be a name we hear more and more in the next few years.

Ben Amos

Anyone who saw Thomas Kuszczak's performance in goal away at Blackburn in the penultimate game of the season will know that most of the blind community, and most amputees for that matter, could have done a better job than the Polish shot-stopper did.
With Kuszczak seemingly on his way out of Old Trafford and back to former club West Brom, an opening has appeared in the Manchester United goalkeeping rotation.
With no permanent replacement to Edwin Van Der Sar yet in place and the jury still out on Anders Lindegaard's capability, Amos can provide much needed depth for cup games and lesser games.

Will Keane

Will Keane, no relation to the legendary Roy, is a talented striker we may well be seeing more of in the future.
Keane grabbed a pair of goals in the F.A Youth Cup final and was awarded the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award and represents England at youth level.
If he continues to progress, Keane could soon become a more renowned name in British football.

LONDON, ENGLAND - NOVEMBER 20: Ritchie De Laet of Preston looks on during the npower Championship match between Queens Park Rangers and Preston North End at Loftus Road on November 20, 2010 in London, England. (Photo by Dan Istitene/Getty Images)

Ritchie De Laet

De Laet is a young, talented, left-sided player comfortable in both defence and advanced positions.
Already a Belgium international, De Leat has spent the best part of the past two years out on loan to a flurry of Championship teams such as Portsmouth, Sheffield United and Preston North End since joining from Stoke in 2009.
Left footed players are often in high demand, and De Laet could well be on his way to greater stardom soon.

Ryan TunniclIiffe

He looks a lot like Wayne Rooney, and if the midfielder can play at anywhere near the same level as his doppelgänger, then Tunnicliffe's in for a bright future.
Singled out as a leader and all-round midfield force, the 19-year-old could well follow many United prospects in applying his trade on loan in the near future.

Davide Petrucci

Petrucci, signed from Roma in 2009, has suffered injury setbacks that have halted his progression towards the United first team.
A talented attacking midfielder, Petrucci is another player we could be seeing more of over the next decade.

Paul Pogba

A dominant midfielder, the Frenchman is said to be highly thought of at Old Trafford and by Sir Alex Ferguson himself.
The young midfield maestro could well be a star of the future, either at Old Trafford or elsewhere.
