Gary Neville may have hung his boots up, but there’s no keeping him off the football pitch.
In his new role as a club ambassador he recently visited Manchester United Soccer Schools in Abu Dhabi to help spread the message of playing football "the United way".The former United captain was thrilled to take part in the latest sessions and was also keen to extol his vast experience to budding young footballers.
“The facility in Abu Dhabi is absolutely fantastic – it’s a credit to United’s name,” says Gary. “I did a little bit of a session with the kids, spoke to the coaches and understood what it is that they’re doing over there. The work that the coaches are doing is brilliant.
“Young players taking part in the Soccer Schools programmes are taught in the same way that United players like myself, Ryan Giggs, and Paul Scholes were taught."
Manchester United Soccer Schools in the UAE offer kids a range of football courses that place great importance on football development but also encourage enjoyment of playing the game.
"Apart from the football coaching, they are also given help to develop other life skills which are important both on and off the field, and shown how to lead a healthy lifestyle.” - Gary Neville
