Boss mulls Rio recall

Wayne Rooney is expected to be fit to lead the line for United at Chelsea on Wednesday night, despite sitting out part of the Reds' final training session with a badly bruised shin.

Sir Alex Ferguson is hopeful the in-form striker will shrug off the knock as his biggest decisions will come in defence with Rio Ferdinand knocking on the door for a timely return.
Most of the injury problems that have plagued the boss recently are beginning to ease ahead of the critical phase of the season.
"Wayne missed training this morning for a good part of it," explained Sir Alex. "He was having treatment. I'm sure he'll be fit for tomorrow.
"We have had some injury problems, particularly in defence. Hopefully that's coming to an end.
"Jonny Evans is available. Ferdinand's been training for over a week now. Whether or not he's ready for this game, I'm not sure. But he's experienced and a fantastic footballer.
"Rafael's available - he's been training all week. John O'Shea and Wes Brown are back in training as well. So in defence we're getting better."
In midfield, the game has come too soon for Anderson, even though he is back in training, while Darren Fletcher remains sidelined and will rejoin the squad on Friday once United have returned to Manchester.
"Anderson trained today," revealed the manager. "He's back. I wouldn't put him into the game tomorrow right away because it's such a major game for him - he's been out for a few weeks - but the midfield options aren't too bad.
"Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Michael Carrick, Darron Gibson, Park Ji-sung. I've got plenty of options. I just hope I'll get the right back four.
"Darren Fletcher will be back in on Friday. It's a terrible virus and he lost a bit of weight but that weight's back on now. We look forward to seeing him on Friday - we'll look at him then and take it from there."
