Vidic hails wing duo

Nemanja Vidic is delighted by the return of Antonio Valencia and Ji-sung Park, two players he believes could play a key role in United’s trophy quest.

Both wingers have recently rejoined the fold after substantial periods out of action and Valencia, in particular, has impressed everyone by slotting seamlessly back into the side following his long-term injury.
The Ecuadorian played a starring role in last week’s Champions League first-leg win at Chelsea to earn a glowing tribute from Vidic, who rates him very highly both on and off the field.
"Antonio is so professional," the Reds skipper told ManUtd.com. "He’s somebody everyone can look up to. Look how quickly he’s come back from injury – it’s down to the mentality he has.
"He’s at Carrington from the morning until the afternoon and everything he does is geared towards making him a better player. He’s one of the most important players in our team.
"He showed against Chelsea how versatile he is. We all know how good he is attacking but he showed at Stamford Bridge that he can defend as well.
"He’s strong, powerful, quick, brave… all the attributes you need to play for Manchester United. I haven’t seen him play in goal yet, but I think that maybe if he trains for two or three months he could do it because he works so hard!"

Vidic also reserved praise for Park, citing the unsung Korean’s tireless work for the team and knack for succeeding on the biggest stage.
"Ji performs well in the big games and that’s why he plays in so many of them," the defender added. "He takes up good positions, he holds onto the ball, he can defend, he can attack. He was great against Chelsea in the first leg.
"Ji’s one of those players who maybe isn’t so attractive to all the fans, but the job he does on the pitch is massive for the team. You can’t have 11 individual stars in your team – you need different players for different positions."
Vidic is especially pleased by the duo's availability because he knows a full-strength squad provides a huge advantage during the run-in.
"Antonio’s back, Ji's back… it gives us good options on the flanks," the Serbian said. "All over the team we’ve had some positive news – Wes Brown and John O’Shea are back, Rio’s back, Rafael's injury doesn’t look too bad.
"It’s great to have everyone fit at this stage of the season. It gives the manager a headache or two but it will help as we try to win three trophies. It means Sir Alex can afford to make a few changes and still have a great team on the pitch."
