Hernandez hits a hat-trick

Hernandez hits a hat-trick

The goals just keep coming for Javier Hernandez.
The English domestic league may have finished late last month, but United striker Chicharito is still finding the net on the international stage.
On Sunday, the 23-year-old hit a second-half hat-trick as Mexico strolled to a 5-0 win against El Salvador in the opening round of the Gold Cup in Dallas, USA.
Hernandez’s first, a header from close range, put Mexico 3-0 up on 60 minutes. Seven minutes later he latched onto a long ball and finished across the El Salvador goalkeeper, before sealing his treble in injury-time with a cheeky, chipped penalty.
In typical Hernandez style, the striker played down his individual achievement when talking to reporters after the match.
"The most important thing for me is the three points,” he said. “I don't care if I score – sometimes I won't. The main thing is we won.”
Mexico's next test comes against Cuba, in Charlotte on 9 June.
