The transfer window is always full of rumor and speculation. 2011 is no different, especially at Manchester United.
The Red Devils have made a number of moves this summer, including the recent signing of Blackburn defender Phil Jones. They are also in position to sign midfielder Ashley Young from Aston Villa. It will be complete after Villa figure out their managerial situation.
That's not the only midfielder Sir Alex Ferguson wants to sign. Looming large on his wish list is Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder.
With Ashley Young and Sneijder in the midfield, Sir Alex will have a formidable side come August. Along with Wayne Rooney and Chicarito up front, Manchester United would look set on defending their Premier League crown.
Let's take a look at five reasons why Wesley Sneijder is a good choice for Manchester United.

1)He Brings Experience

By bringing in Wesley Sneijder, United will bring in a midfielder with 20 years of football experience. He started in the Ajax youth program in 1991 and played there until 2002.
In 2002, he got his chance at the big time. He started playing with the Ajax first team and made 127 appearances with the club, scoring 48 goals.
In 2007, he joined Real Madrid, where he played until 2009. Sneijder made 52 appearances and scored 11 goals during his time at Madrid. He helped Madrid win a title in 2008.
From there, he joined Inter Milan in 2009, where he has made 51 appearances and scored eight goals. He helped Inter win the championship in 2010.
Sneijder also plays on the Dutch national team. Since 2003, Sneijder has made 76 appearances and scored 21 goals. One of the most famous goals, he scored as a member of the Dutch team was a header against Brazil in a 2-1 upset. It proved to be the goal that sent the Dutch to the semifinals. They made it all the way to the final, where they ultimately lost 1-0 to Spain in extra time.
That kind of experience is more than valuable to a United team already full of talent and experience. He knows what it takes to win championships.
That's something United has had plenty of experience doing.

2)He Can Fill in for Paul Scholes' Position

When Paul Scholes retired, big shoes were left to be filled by Sir Alex Ferguson.
Well, Sneijder could fill the United legend's shoes.
He has the ability to make the key passes due to his ambidexterity.  When the opportunity knocks, he can shoot the ball. Some of Sneijder's goals are just unbelievable to watch.
That's what Scholes did during his long career with United: make the key passes and score when called upon. He'll also have the experienced Ryan Giggs alongside him in the midfield.
Sir Alex can't wait to have Sneijder on his team. Who knows? Maybe we could be seeing another United legend in the making.

3)His Insane Goal-Scoring Ability

Sneijder can score some wicked goals. Check out his goals against Brazil in the 2010 World Cup here.
He also scored a great goal  here against Roma on Feb 6, 2011:
And here's a demonstration of his free-kick ability, something that hasn't been seen since Cristiano Ronaldo left for Real Madrid.
Watch these videos and you will see the talent that he has.

4)He Will Give United an Advantage at Set Pieces

A great free-kick taker is something many clubs would do anything to get. Sneijder is one of them.
He also brings that back to United, something they didn't exactly have after Cristiano Ronaldo left the club. Not only can he score from free kicks, but he can also deliver good crosses and balls into the box. Those create opportunities for players like Rooney, Hernandez, Giggs and others.
So a warning to other Premier League teams: Don't foul outside your penalty box, because Wesley Sneijder will make you pay.

5)He Could Establish His Career and Become One of the Game's Best of All Time

Right now, Sneijder is at a great point in his career. He's 27, so he has at least 10 years or so of football left in him. Plus, he's earned many awards in his career.
They will only continue to increase at United.
At United, he would be able to help them win more than the Premier League. He would also be able to help them to win the FA Cup, League Cup and the coveted Champions League.
He could also become a United legend, joining the likes of Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Roy Keane and others who played for United in years past.
For the Dutch fans, he may be able to bring home a trophy long desired in their country: the World Cup.
