Papers: £25m for Modric?

Spurs willing to sell Modric and BaleTottenham are willing to cash in on star playmaker Luka Modric at the right price - but would only allow Gareth Bale to leave for a staggering £50million. The North Londoners have so far been adamant that the 25-year-old Croatian is going nowhere amid interest from Chelsea and, more significantly, Manchester United. But privately, MirrorFootball understands, they would allow Modric to leave if they were to receive an offer of £20m-£25m from a Champions League club. The revelation is eye-catching, given that they themselves paid £16m for him three years ago and also given that the club are going to be battling to break back into the top four.
Meanwhile, The Sun claim Fabio Coentrao is heading for Real Madrid despite alleged interest from the Reds. "I know that Manchester United and Barcelona are interested in me. This is special for me and makes me think that I am doing well as a player. They are two big teams with the best players but if Real Madrid show an interest they will be my first option."
The Sun also reckon Newcastle are planning a £7.5million bid for Dimitar Berbatov while other newspapers report comments from Tom Cleverley insisting he is returning to Old Trafford and not staying at Wigan.
