Robson resigns as Thai boss

Bryan Robson

United legend Bryan Robson has left his post as Thailand manager by mutual consent.
Robson, who scored 99 times in 461 appearances for the Reds, was appointed Thailand boss back in September 2009 and took charge of 18 games during his tenure. He won seven of those, drew four and lost seven.
Thailand FA president Worawi Makudi confirmed Robson’s departure on Wednesday, telling reporters: “Bryan wished to resign and his contract was terminated by mutual consent, but I cannot give any more details.”
Robson, 54, was diagnosed with throat cancer in March 2011, although assured fans through his United Review matchday programme column on 22 May that he was anticipating a healthy future.
“I’ve finished my radium treatment and have to wait for a scan in a couple of months, but the doctors are very confident that I’ll have a clean bill of health,” he wrote.
United can confirm his decision to step down as Thailand manager was not made for health reasons and that Robson will continue in his role as an official club ambassador
