Owen's Wembley dream

Michael Owen admits he dreams of scoring the winning goal in the Champions League final at Wembley.

The United striker is determined to have a real impact as the big trophies loom tantalisingly into view and remains confident he can provide the Midas touch for Sir Alex Ferguson, even if it's coming off the bench late in a match.
Nobody appreciates the value of the squad game more than the 31-year-old, who has started only one league game all season but remains an invaluable option for the manager.
Indeed, after making eye-catching contributions as a late substitute against both Arsenal and Schalke, Owen remains in real contention for a place.
"The most memorable example in recent years was when two substitutes came off the bench against Bayern Munich to score the winning goals in the European Cup final," he said. "That is the motivation that drives me on.
"Every day, I have to be ready and prepared to come in and do something. I am dreaming of coming off the bench and scoring the winner at Wembley in stoppage time.
"It just illustrates the depth of squad needed. You never know when you are going to be needed and you have to be in the right frame of mind and physically right to do yourself and the team justice. That is everyone's role at the moment."
Owen knows the manager is likely to allow everybody the chance to contribute with only four games left this season.
"Even if it is just one goal or one good performance, everyone is going to play their part," he insisted. "That is why, from my point of view, you are always wanting to play and train as if you are going to play at the weekend.
"One day, the manager might just ask you to play or someone might get injured. You might have to come on with five minutes to go to try and nick a goal. We have seen that here so many times.
"You have to be prepared. If you are not, you are not going to take your chance."
